Dr. Lisa Tieber earned her BS in Psychology from Santa Clara University and a MS in Psychology from Western Washing University. Her desire to help both humans and their animal companions as well as her love of science made becoming a veterinarian a natural choice for her. She went to veterinary school at Iowa State University where she had her first exposure to the use of acupuncture as a treatment of neurologic patients. After completing an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City she went on to a residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at Auburn University. She became board-certified in Veterinary Neurology in 2006. Wanting to improve the options and outcomes of her patients she decided to obtain training in acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and became certified in canine rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She worked as a canine rehabilitation therapist at several hospitals in the bay area and is our certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist at Napa Valley Holistic Veterinary Services. Currently she is working on obtaining certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine through Chi University.
