Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy

Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy is the veterinary equivalent of human chiropractic care. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that focuses on relieving muscle tension through proper spine and limb adjustments. Treatments activate the nervous system to decrease pain, which helps restore normal function of the body and increase comfort. In assisting proper nervous system function, overall health and vitality is improved.

Dr. Leticia O’Hara is our certified Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapist at Napa Valley Holistic Veterinary Services. She is a licensed veterinarian and is certified in VSMT through the Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Wisconsin, one of the most rigorous programs in the country, and also the only accredited program of its kind in the United States. She focuses on spinal adjustments of cats, dogs and horses, all of which are performed in the comfort of your home or stable.

Under California law a licensed veterinarian can perform VSMT on your pet, but a human chiropractor can only legally practice on pets if a veterinarian is present at the time of the adjustment.

This modality is suitable for pets of many species, breeds and activity levels. Whether your companion is a playful kitten, agility dog, 4-legged walking partner, pleasure or performance horse, they can experience the transformative benefits of treatment.
